Pantop-D SR mechanism of action
Pantop-D SR mechanism involves two active components Pantoprazole and Domperidone. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor, that reduces stomach acid production by inhibiting the proton pump enzyme. Domperidone is a dopamine receptor antagonist, which is enhances the gastrointestinal motility and prevents nausea by blocking dopamine receptors. Contraindications
• Hypersensitivity or Allergy. If you have hypersensitivity or allergy to Pantoprazole, Domperidone, or any other components of Pantop-D SR should avoid its use. Because Allergic reactions can range from mild skin rashes to severe systemic reactions, including difficulty breathing and swelling.
• Liver disease. Pantop-D SR should be avoid if you have severe liver disease. Both Pantoprazole and Domperidone are metabolized in the liver, and their clearance may be compromised in patients with significant liver dysfunction, potentially leading to increased drug levels and adverse effects.
• Cardiac Arrhythmias(irregular heartbeat). Due to the potential for Domperidone cause QT prolongation and affect cardiac rhythm, Pantop-D SR should be used with caution in individuals with a history of cardiac arrhythmias or those taking medications that can also prolong the QT interval.
